We're continuing our look at client projects that have a positive impact on people and the environment, or as we like to call it, Tech for Good. This week, we put the spotlight on Camp 365, a sister project to the mould-breaking Camp in the Cloud platform we built for the charity Over The Wall.
Briefly describe what the project set out to achieve (the core goals, the purpose, positive change and impact you wanted to have)
Camp 365 was created using the Moodle LMS software, to provide a safe and inclusive space for children and young people with illnesses, to make friends and have fun. The project set out to achieve the following goals:
Provide an online space where children and young people with illnesses could feel safe, accepted, and included.
Promote social and emotional well-being.
Increase self-confidence and self-esteem.
Provide a sense of belonging and community.
Now tell us how your goals were met. What impact and positive change has the project had on the lives of the users or indeed the planet?
Camp 365 has had a positive impact on the lives of many children and young people with illnesses. It is a safe and inclusive space where children and young people with illnesses can come together, make friends, and have fun. This was achieved through the creation of a new online platform featuring a series of diverse, cartoon avatars, online activities and digital badges.
Camp 365 offers a variety of activities that promote social and emotional well-being, such as games, forums and interactive online workshops. The platform provides a supportive environment where children and young people can feel good about themselves and offers opportunities for participants to develop their skills, talents, and interests that helps to build self-confidence and self-esteem.
The platform creates a sense of community among children and young people with illnesses and provides a place for participants to connect with others who understand what they are going through. This helps to reduce isolation and loneliness.
What's next for Camp 365?
We are excited to continue to grow and expand Camp 365 in the coming years. We have a number of goals for the future, including:
Expanding our reach: We want to make Camp 365 available to more children and young people with illnesses, regardless of their location or financial circumstances.
Developing new programs and activities: We want to continue to develop new programs and activities that meet the needs of our participants.
Partnering with other organizations: We want to partner with other organisations that share our mission of providing a safe and inclusive space for children and young people with illnesses.
We believe that Camp 365 has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with illnesses. We are committed to continuing to grow and expand the project, and we are excited to see what the future holds for Camp 365.
